Kuwait - KUNA

Minister of Electricity and Water and Minister of Public Works Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim said Wednesday that the first power station in Sabah Al-Ahmad residential city is now operational, expressing hope that others will follow by the end of this year.
The minister's remarks came in a press conference after the opening ceremony of the power station.
Al-Ibrahim added that the project was completed on schedule, noting that it is divided into four parts. It will feed around 1,400 housing units.
The station which cost KD 17 million, including four transferring stations, will be delivering around 720 megawatt each for around 500 to 600 houses in the city, the minister added.
Road lights for the city are now on, he added, expressing hope that all power stations for the city will be starting by the end of this year.
