Qena Governor Abdel Hamid El Hagan said that about 7,000 tons of fuel were injected into petrol stations in the upper Egyptian province.
The new supplies included 5,383 tons of diesel, 1,125 tons of "octane 80" gasoline and 770 tons of "octane 90" gasoline, the governor said.
Vehicles have been queuing on entries of 80 gasoline stations in the cities of Abu Tesht, Farshot and Nag Hammadi.
