The biggest wind power station which will produce over 500 million kW/hour electricity per year has been inaugurated on Saturday. Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, "We need to produce electricity two times more than the amount we do now. It will be used in industry and the developing technology." Speaking at the opening ceremony of BARES Wind Power Station in Turkish western province of Balikesir, Yildiz pointed out the wind power station would contribute much to Turkey, not only to Balikesir and its surroundings. Renewable sources such as coal, wind, sun, and geothermal are among Turkey's basic strategy and politics, said Yildiz adding "The growth rate of Turkey is much faster than the growth rate of those energy sources."
