Head European Union Delegation to Egypt James Moran said Sunday the wind park in Hurghada's Zeit Mountain region will be a key source of new and renewable energy in Egypt and will boost the Egyptian economy and open new career opportunities.
In a statement circulated by the European Delegation in Cairo, Moran said windfarms serve to reduce the impact of global warming.
The Hurghada windfarm will help Egypt reduce the emission of carbon dioxide 400,000 tons a year.
The EU earmarked 30 million Euros as a grant to build the wind park, he concluded.
