Yemeni capital
Sanaa - MENA

For the third consecutive week, the Yemeni capital and other parts of the unrest-hit country continue to plunge into darkness after the main power plant in Ma'rib became out of service as a result of ongoing violence.

The plant was targeted in the underway violence between popular resistance forces backed tribes in support of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi on one hand and Houthis and troops loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other hand.

Technical teams are still unable to enter the province to fix the problem.

The situation in these provinces even worsened with the absence of petroleum derivatives that made locals unable to depend on small power generators which could lighten their households or shops for 12 hours a day.

Lack of fuel has also disrupted health supplies across the country.
