John Oliver and Bill Nye debated climate change skeptics on Oliver's HBO show Last Week Tonight ,saying people's skepticism on climate change doesn't matter. Oliver pointed out that according to a poll, one in four Americans is skeptical about the existence of climate change, to which he responded, "Who gives a [expletive]?" "That doesn't matter," Oliver continued. "You don't need people's opinion on a fact. You might as well have a poll asking: 'Which number is bigger, 15 or 5?' or 'Do owls exist?' or 'Are there hats?'" He went on to say that the debate on climate change should not be about whether or not it exists -- 97 percent of scientists say it does -- but rather what should be done about it. Nye joined Oliver in the debate with the climate change skeptics, reaffirming the scientific research behind global warming.
