The weather took another turn on Wednesday and temperatures started climbing in the region and it reached 32°C in Sharjah on Thursday. It is expected to increase further in the coming days and the dust in the air will settle slowly, said Sharjah Met sources. The haze persisted till Thursday. It was hazy and partly cloudy in general with a rise in day temperatures. Later, the clouds increased over the islands, some coastal and northern areas. The Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman were moderate with wave heights 2-4ft offshore. The relative humidity increased during night and early morning over some western coastal areas on Thursday. Friday is expected to be partly cloudy in general with a rise in day temperatures. The clouds will increase over the islands and some coastal areas. The wind direction will change from southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times over the western internal areas and thus blowing dust and sand. The sea will be slight to moderate with a wave height of 2-5ft offshore and become rough by night on Friday. Saturday will be hazy and partly cloudy in general. The clouds will increase over the islands and some coastal areas. Moderate to fresh southeasterly to northeasterly winds in general will blow dust/sand and the Arabian Gulf will be rough with a wave height of 4-7ft offshore. The weather started showing signs of improvement on Wednesday afternoon but the dust has not settled as expected by meteorologists. The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported improved visibility conditions and another rise in day temperatures on Thursday.
