UAE residents will soon feel the chill with temperatures set to go down to a nippy 9°C on Tuesday. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) is predicting minimum temperatures ranging between 9°C and 17°C in internal areas of the country, while in mountainous regions, minimum temperatures could go down a further degree, ranging between 8°C and 13°C according to the NCMS forecast. The current sunny skies will gradually turn partly cloudy, and conditions will become hazy at times, according to the NCMS weather forecast. The UAE’s Met department is forecasting “Partly cloudy weather in general, and hazy at times” for Tuesday. “The amount of clouds will increase over islands and coastal areas at times,” the NCMS says. Fresh winds are expected to further cool temperatures. “Moderate to fresh Northwesterly winds especially over the sea by afternoon, with a gradual fall in temperatures, especially over the western areas. Sea is moderate, becoming rough by afternoon,” it says. Moderate north-westerly winds are expected especially over the sea by afternoon, with a gradual fall in temperatures over the western areas. The NCMS is predicting wind speeds of 13 to 21 km/hr in internal areas, and reckons wind speed could reach 27 km/hr at times. Mountainous regions of the country are set to witness wind speeds of 16-28 km/hr, which may reach 32 km/hr at times, while in coastal areas, wind will blow between 15-20 km/hr, reaching 28 km/hr at times. The sea is expected to become rough with 6-8 feet waves offshore by Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday, the Centre expects fresh to strong winds, especially over the sea and western open land areas, which may blow dust in the air, thus reducing horizontal visibility and a further fall in temperatures.
