Newborn Arabian tahr have been discovered on Jebel Hafeet, in Al Ain, by the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency.
The find indicates that the UAE can provide the environmental conditions required to help boost numbers of the mountain goat, which is endangered.
Special motion-sensitive cameras were used by EAD to monitor the area in which the goats were found, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National reported. Among the goats spotted were a mother and her two kids, as well as two others.
The goats can also be found in Fujairah's Wadi Wurayah.
