Beijing - Xinhua

German luxury carmaker BMW AG will recall 3,198 vehicles of BMW and Rolls-Royce due to defects with their electronic pumps, according to a statement released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) on Monday. Starting from November 21, a total of 2,862 vehicles of BMW 2009-2010 5-series GT, 2009-2010 7-series, 2008-2010 X5 and 2008-2010 X6 produced between November, 2007 and February, 2011 will be recalled. BMW will also recall 336 Rolls-Royce Ghosts produced between May, 2009 and March, 2011. The statement said the electronics pumps could crack if the circuit boards became damaged, which could cause fire accidents. The company will replace the defective pumps free of charge.
