General Motors India is recalling 4,000 diesel-powered Chevrolet Sail cars to fix a faulty engine part, reports said Tuesday. The recall covers 2,910 compact cars and 1,090 sub-compact hatchback units of the Chevrolet Sail in India, the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency said, quoting a top company executive. "Quality is our highest priority. However, if there is an issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction," GM India vice-president P. Balendran was quoted saying. In July, the company recalled 114,000 Chevrolet Tavera SUVs over an "emission issue". The latest recall -- the fault could potentially impact the performance of the diesel engine -- was not related to that, Balendran said.
