Jaguar is once again set to support and participate in the Eifel Klassik 2012, which takes place between June 7 and 9. Among the cars entered in the event by Jaguar are a trio of ex-Royal Household vehicles. An imposing XJ12 Series I and a graceful MkVII, both once used by the Queen Mother, are joined by an XJS driven by Lady Diana. Completing the strong Jaguar presence at the Eifel Classic are a Series II E-type, an XK150 and an XK120, the latter having just returned from participating in the Mille Miglia. The Eifel Klassik attracts an entry list of diverse heritage vehicles, each taking on a demanding mix of roads in the Eifel region of Germany. The Jaguar Nurburgring Test Centre will play host to the start of the event with competitors taking to the track on which every modern Jaguar is tested before heading out on the public roads, taking in a total of over 700KM in three days. The event marks one element of an exciting programme of events for Jaguar in 2012. The Jaguar Heritage Racing programme was launched on 12th March 2012 at the RAC Club in London and is operated and managed by JD Classics, based in Maldon, Essex. An established player in the historic motorsport world, JD Classics has prepared both the C- and D-type Jaguars which will take to the track at the Nürburgring Oldtimer Grand Prix (10-12 August) and Goodwood Revival (14-16 September). The season-long programme will also see Jaguar Heritage Racing support numerous additional events on the historic motoring calendar including the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Already this year, Heritage Jaguars have appeared at the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique – won by a C-type – and the Mille Miglia in Italy.
