Dubai - Arabstoday

Honda is to recall more than 2,700 vehicles in the UAE, the Japanese carmaker’s third global recall this summer, a spokesperson from the carmaker’s Middle East dealership said Thursday.Honda Middle East confirmed it will recall 2,701 cars in the UAE in order to repair a faulty electric window mechanism. The move is part of a global recall of nearly 960,000 vehicles and includes 2006 to 2008 Honda City models and 2006 CR-V models. “We have not seen any complaints but we foresee there may be complaints so this is a precaution,” said Arijit Basu, the general manager of sales for Honda Middle East. Basu confirmed the spare parts would be delivered to Al Futtaim Honda and the distributor would contact any owners impacted by the recall and the repairs would be carried out free of charge. This is Tokyo-based manufacturer’s third recall this summer. In August, it recalled more than 2,000 Accords in the UAE under a global operation to repair a software problem that could damage the car’s automatic transmission and in July it recalled around 7,000 Civic models  in order to repair a faulty cooling issue with the engine. Honda Middle East, part of Trading Enterprises and a subsidiary of Al Futtaim Motors, advised customers affected by the recall to contact their local distributor. From / Arabian Business News
