Michelin, a leading tyre company, has launched the new Latitude Sport 3 tyre in the UAE, which will provide SUV drivers with both safety and drivability.
Designed entirely for on-road use, the tyre delivers superior performance in the areas of safety, total mileage, comfort and noise, said a statement.
With the local SUV sales market expected to reach almost 140,000 units by 2016, the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 is a robust tyre capable of supporting the SUV’s weight and driver expectation, it said.
It enhances safety performance in several ways and delivers outstanding grip on all types of road, including wet surfaces.
The new tyre stops 2.70 m shorter on wet roads than the previous generation tyre. It also offers superior mileage, higher comfort and lower noise.
Hany Abdulsamad, marketing manager for Michelin in the UAE and Oman, said: “At Michelin, we are dedicated to sustainably improving mobility and developing innovative tire technology to meet the demand of a dynamic automotive industry.
“The Michelin Latitude Sport 3 comes to market at a time when demand for SUVs is accelerating in the UAE. Data collected by an IHS Global Insight report shows that the demand for SUVs is on an upward trajectory and Michelin is in a position to supply a new tyre that is both remarkably safe and offers the required sporting experience for SUV users.“
The LS3 tyre is designed to deliver reduced tread pattern noise, excellent total mileage while improving safety and fuel saving, said the statement.
The new tyre range will also provide high level of comfort and maximum torque transfer when braking or accelerating, improving steering precision.
It will be offered in 28 sizes to equip the widest possible number of SUVs already on the road or soon to roll off the assembly line. It has also red by certified on models including the new Porsche Macan and BMW X5.
