Tokyo - KUNA

Nissan Motor Co is recalling about 910,000 vehicles worldwide, including 764,744 in Japan, because of a flaw in an accelerator sensor, the company said Thursday. The recall affects five models, including Serena, Fuga and X-Trail, manufactured between October 2004 and June this year. About 150,000 vehicles sold abroad are also subject to the problem, the Japanese carmaker said, according to DPA. There were 1,432 claims of Nissan vehicles failing to accelerate, but no reports of accidents, the Transport Ministry said. Nissan said the accelerator pedal's sensor may not work correctly, which could lead to, in the worst case, a stalled engine.
