German premium carmaker Audi has launched its limited edition ‘Audi Sport Racing Bike' in the region.
Audi’s latest creation has been made in partnership with fellow German company CarbonSports, and will be limited to a production run of only 50 units, said a statement from Audi.
CarbonSports has provided the unique carbon fibre used in the production of the various components of the bike.
The bike weighs in at just 5.8 kg due to an ultra-light, yet high rigidity, carbon frame which has been used in the production of the bike, it added.
The frame and forks are made from T1000 carbon, which is used by Audi in its race cars, it said.
The bike is built up with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 digital shifting system and the wheels are Lightweight Meilenstein C’s, said the statement.
The Selle Italia saddle is outfitted in an Audi Sport covering made from the same fine nappa leather used in the new Audi R8, and comes in frame heights of 48, 51, 54, 56 and 58 cm.
The Audi Sport Racing Bike is an exclusive, high-tech and high-performance racing bike suitable for a whole host of applications on flat terrain, in the mountains and on racetracks.
Chris Hinks, the director at the company’s aftersales, said: “The bike is available on request and only 50 are available worldwide.”
“The racing bike is sold alongside Audi clothing and accessories. Each bike comes with a limited edition badge with individual number,” he said.
“For the convenient and safe transport of the bike, our dealerships offer a light-weight bicycle rack made from high-quality materials and specifically developed for your Audi,” he added.
The bike is available at all Audi dealerships in the region and will retail at a price of $29,250.
