
Toyota has revealed a number of new concepts at the Tokyo Auto Salon, including a supercharged iQ and a Yaris Turbo. GRMN – Gazoo Racing tuned by MN – is behind the iQ, which has seen power from its 1.33-litre engine increased to 128bhp. It also gets better brakes, sports suspension and twin exhausts. The supercharged iQ will be produced for a limited run of 100 units later this year. The Yaris Turbo is also put together by GRMN, and gets a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine producing 178bhp as well as tweaked suspension and 18-inch alloys. Toyota’s rear-wheel-drive GT 86 also made an appearance with upgrades provided by TRD – Toyota Racing Development. The tuned car gets reworked suspension with new front and rear anti-roll bars, a carbon front strut, rear diffuser, and a new exhaust system.
