Peugeot, the world leader in electric vehicles by the number of 106 Electric sold, overcomes a new step in its strategy to reduce emissions by marketing iOn, the first 100% electric vehicle next generation. This 100% electric Peugeot develops a maximum power of 47 kW (64 hp) and torque of 180 Nm, thus offering reassuring performance (maximum speed 130 km / h). iOn is equipped with a new generation battery with a lithium-ion energy storage capacity which is much higher than the old Ni Cd used in the 1990s (three times more energy per kilo or two times more per unit volume). This battery has no memory effect. It can be recharged even partially without having to discharge fully regularly. Autonomy A full recharge of the battery is carried out in nine hours with a standard household outlet. A quick charge with a specific terminal allows a 50% recharge in just fifteen minutes or 80% in thirty minutes. Knowing that in urban and suburban areas, a car is stopped 90% of the time the cooldown of ion is therefore fully compatible with the habits and real uses of motorists. Thanks to efficient management of the energy of its Lithium-ion battery and optimization of energy recovery, both during deceleration and braking, the autonomy for the European standard cycle is 150 km. This therefore provides sufficient autonomy as 90% of commuting motorists journeys are less than 60 km. These features allow this city car "zero emissions" of CO2 while driving and a high versatility of use, comparable in performance and cabin space, with a small conventional internal combustion vehicle. Peugeot also sells 100% electric light commercial vehicles, such as Partner Origin, developed by Venturi.
