Ford unveils their all-new B-Max, which is set to hit European city streets in the very near future. Ford has just unveiled their all-new B-Max small car at the Geneva Motor Show. While at first it may appear to be a somewhat bland-looking vehicle, it is in fact an advanced design with the technology to match.Based on the same B-platform as the highly successful Fiesta, the B-Max is described by Ford as a "premium compact multi-activity vehicle...that combines outstanding space and versatility within a smart and stylish exterior."And we fully agree with that statement. Powered by the automaker's 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost with either 100 or 120hp, the B-Max actually achieves 15 percent lower fuel consumption than its closest competitor, which is the Opel Meriva. Other power options include 1.4- and 1.6-liter Duratec gasoline engines. In addition, buyers can opt for a choice of two diesel units that each offer best-in-class fuel efficiency. It also comes equipped with the voice-activated connectivity system SYNC, the likes of which is most normally found on more premium models.Buyers can also opt to include an eight-speaker Sony audio system, Key Free system, rear view camera and full leather upholstery. What's interesting about the B-Max is that it has sliding rear doors instead of the typical hinged units, effectively making access to the rear much easier. It also features 60/40 split rear seats that can fold flat. Drivers are also treated to a higher 'command' seating position. Compared to its Fiesta cousin, the B-Max is 11cm longer, but is 32cm shorter than the larger C-Max.Official pricing has yet to be announced, but as of now the B-Max is set for European roads only.
