Mercedes CLS shooting brake patents leaked

Just a few weeks ahead of its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, patent images of the new Shooting Brake version of Mercedes CLS hit the Net. Now, there’s not much to get excited about here, because you’ve already seen this car as a concept, and because it’s just a CLS with a big rear hatch. It is a nice proposition though, an elegant family wagon with a touch of sport. Sounds appealing. According to the reports coming out of Mercedes headquarters, the same range of engine as the CLS sedan will be available for the Shooting Brake as well, minus the AMG V8 for now. Whether or not they will make an AMG shooting brake is not clear now, but you can count on a V6 and a V8 petrol, plus two diesels – a V6 and a four-cylinder. It’s just a matter of time before you see this car at every golf club’s parking lot.
