Beijing - Xinhua

The 2011 Yearbook of the People's Republic of China (PRC) has been published at home and abroad in both Chinese and English versions. The yearbook, containing more than 100 photos, is divided into 39 categories, including national defense, diplomacy and economy, the publisher, Xinhua Publishing House, said Wednesday. The book includes information from the multimedia database of Xinhua News Agency as well as articles from the central and provincial governments, the publisher said. At more than three million Chinese characters in length, it also includes special sections on major events, such as the Shanghai World Expo, the Guangzhou Asian Games, the quake rescue and relief in Yushu Prefecture of Qinghai Province, and the mudslide in Zhouqu County of Gansu Province.
