The State of Kuwait is keen on supporting all Arab League decisions, particularly on developing Arab media work, Assistant Undersecretary for external media in Information Ministry Tariq Al-Mizrim said Tuesday. Al-Mizrim made his remarks to KUNA on the sideline of meetings of the executive office of the council of Arab information ministers. Al-Mizrim, who headed Kuwait delegation to the meetings, said that his country has always been keen to participate in meetings of the League. The Kuwaiti official stressed importance on bolstering joint Arab media work among Arab countries, including improving understanding of Arab media as a concept, and to find ways to deal with terrorism, which was a global phenomenon and not only a Middle East problem. Regarding the meeting, Al-Mizrim said participants discussed proposals and issues related to Arab code of ethics and developing Arab media, including electronic and private media. Earlier, officials said at the opening session of meetings said that the official state-run media in the Arab world need to double their efforts to face challenges stemming from the constant changes in the technology of communication among people.
