"It is imperative to work on approving a strategy to be abided by all Arab media institutions to establish values of moderation, love and tolerance," said Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister Shaikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
This came on Monday in a speech delivered on his behalf by Assistant Undersecretary of the Information Ministry Faisal Al-Mutallaqem during a media conference on civilization and dialogue.
"Such values form basics in combating terrorism, which has false cultural concepts," Al-Mutallaqem said, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Kuwait has drawn up a national media strategy currently implemented by both official and private media outlets in order to establish stability and societal security, he added.
Earlier today, Al-Mutallaqem said Kuwait is eager to cope with the new media concept due to its due role in influencing public opinion and inter-cultural communication.
Organized by Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), the conference was held under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Information, Melhem Riachi, and attracted a constellation of Arab and foreign politicians and diplomats, as well as news agencies' chiefs.
Addressing the conference entitled: "Media Spreading Civilizations and Connecting Dialogues", Riachi stressed the significance of ensuring media objectivity and protection of truth.
The conference also discussed role of media in enhancing dialogue amongst different cultures and religions, as well as media challenges. It featured a number of Arab media people, academics and specialists, KUNA reported.
