The General Manager of Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Awad Jadain, has affirmed the importance of SUNA as official media institution in serving the state and the national and international mass media.
Interviewed Monday evening by Khartoum TV Channel, Jadain has expressed his optimism that SUNA will restore its position as a leading centre in the media work in the country, noting that the state's concern with the news agency will enable it to become the basic reference for news to all the mass media and press, as a server, but not a competitor.
Meanwhile, Jadain explained that SUNA was one of the leading regional news agencies because it was given concern and patronage from the state at that time, affirming that SUNA will return to its early place as leading media institution.
He expressed his optimistic that the outcomes of the Second National Conference on Media Issues will be implemented, including SUNA working paper that was presented at the Workshop on the Official Media.
