Minister of State for Human Rights Affairs Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman on Monday received the the Egyptian "Akhbar El-Yom" newspaper managing editor Osama Ajaj in Manama today.The Minister commended the deep-rooted, solid historical friendship relations between Bahrain and Egypt, stressing Bahrain's pride vis-à-vis the strong Arab support to the Kingdoms' just cause at various functions, highlighting Cairo's position in the heart of the Arab nation, which had more than once reiterated its absolute support to the Bahraini leadership and people.Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has capably navigated in full confidence towards democratization, political, human rights and economic development, etc and that the wheel of development continues uninterruptedly despite the challenges facing the Kingdom, the Minister reassuringly said.The Minister said that the great reform project of His Majesty the King has accorded human rights utmost significance and so much diligence as manifested in the series of initiatives and rights projects that established a culture of human rights and legal awareness all of which require more community contribution in order to spread the culture of human rights in the community.The Minister briefed the managing editor on the recent recommendations of the National Assembly , which constitute the Bahraini people's mutual willpower under the dome of Parliament which represents the whole Bahraini people and that received the blessing of His Majesty the King and immediate issuance of royal directives in favor of the implementation of these recommendations.The Minister also gave an overview of Bahrain's impeccable human rights record and ongoing reforms, openness, tolerance, religious freedoms to all sects, efforts in boosting these freedoms. The Kingdom enjoys high atmospheres of transparency, freedoms of expression and opinion protected and ensured by the Constitution and the law, the Minister of State for Human Rights emphasized.The Ministry of Human Rights Affairs currently revises and sorts out the re-scheduling of implementation of recommendations of the UN Human Rights Council in the light of acceptance of 90% of these recommendations in Geneva, citing the substantial progress made by the Kingdom in this respect and its honourable human rights record, Dr. Salah affirmed.The managing editor praised his meeting with the Minister and the Minister's answers to all questions posed by him, praising the Kingdom's impeccable and bright human rights record, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity under the constantly progressive ongoing reform project of His Majesty the King.
