Bahrain News Agency organized a seminar themed "Breadwinning Women: Reality and Regulations" the participants in which praised Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW); applauding Her Royal Highness's empowering Bahraini women in accomplishing more gains and sustainable development by Her Royal Highness's launching of national initiatives aimed at uplifting the status of women in all walks of life. The participants praised the Government support to Bahraini families in general and to women in particular and boosting social assistance provided by the Ministry to the tune of BD 26 million per annum. The participants also praised constitutional amendments, regulations and laws in the Kingdom in favour of women equality to men in political, economic and societal fields, family affairs, judiciary, citing the convention for elimination of discrimination against women (CEDAW) joined by Bahrain as per Decree-by-Law No.: 5/2002.
