Contenders for the the annual Sheikh Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's Award for Journalistic Excellenece can apply as of tomorrow Monday, announced the higher committee of the award on Sunday.The award Secretary General, Ayman Al-Ali, said at a news conference, held at the headquarters of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that this prize has been devoted for supporting distinguished journalistic works in Kuwait. Upcoming contest is expected to be a heated one, considering the substantial support given by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Al-Ali said.Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak has affirmed, in meetings with the members of the higher commission, his keenness on backing the Kuwaiti journalists to help them enhance their professional skills, for such an approach ultimately serves higher national purposes.Applicants can submit their works till three months from tomorrow. The contest will be for news reporting, features, interviews and photos.
