Egyptian press adviser in the French embassy in Cairo Ahmed Fadel was decorated with the second highest medal in France on Tuesday.
France's Ambassador to Egypt Nicolas Galey granted Fadel the medal during a reception held at the envoy's residency.
The event was attended by a host of media people, prominent figures, and diplomats.
Addressing the attendees, Galey praised Fadel for his efforts, spanning 25 years.
The ambassador said Fadel was more than a press adviser in the embassy, adding he was considered a historian for the Egyptian, French, and Francophonie journalistic profession in Egypt.
