The General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Journalists convenes its first meeting after conducting its elections during its 12th Conference in Cairo on 8-9 January 2013, for the first time in the Mauritanian Capital, on 6 and 7 April 2013, to be chaired by the Federation's President, Ahmed Yusuf Behbehani. The Federation of Arab Journalists's Secretary-General, Hatim Zakariyya, said that the meeting will discuss a report on federation's activities, development and bilateral relations with journalists' associations. The meeting discusses pressures and restrictions on Arab journalism as well as the federation's future plans and projects. The meeting also discusses the annual report on freedoms for the press presented by the chairman of freedoms' committee Abdulwahab Al-Zughailat and the formation of committees and general profile of activities in all relevant field.
