Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani strongly condemned the killing of the Japanese hostage Kenji Goto by ISIL militants.
Al-Zayani said in a press release on Sunday that this "heinous" crime goes against all Islamic ethics and values. He added that the GCC countries denounce all forms of terrorism and criminal acts.
He called on the international community to intensify joint efforts to put a stop to these terrorist acts.
Al-Zayani extended his deepest sympathy to Japan and family of the victim.
