Riyadh - KUNA

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah said here on Tuesday the IV News Agencies World Congress (IV-NAWC) would be hopefully a genuine jumping-off for developing Arab media organizations. He said in news remarks that the conference, which is attracting a large number of world media experts, reflects sincere willingness to create a quantum shift in the Arab media field, especially news agencies which are the main source of world news reports. Sponsored by Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the IV News Agencies World Congress (IV-NAWC) is of paramount significance in light of international changes and swift development in media and information technology. He also appreciated efforts by Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussain, President of the Federation of the Arab News Agencies (FANA) and President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in successfully organizing the conference. The KUNA chief voiced confidence that Al-Hussain's presidency of the IV News Agencies World Congress (IV-NAWC) for the coming three years would give a strong push to a further promotion and development of cooperation between Arab and international news agencies. He called for more cooperation among different Arab media organizations in order to share views and experience in the media domain, to develop the Arab media discourse and to create strong and effective media able to fulfill the expectations and hopes of the Arab people.
