Jordan's Premier Abdullah Ensour patronized Monday an awarding ceremony for the 2014 King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Award for Creativity, in which KUNA editor Dr. Tariq Al-Bakri won a prize in the arts and literature field.
The Jordanian Prime Minister, attending on behalf of King Abdullah II, handed the winners their awards in three fields; literature, arts, science, and Arab city.
Dr. Al-Bakri, Lebanon, won his award in children literature jointly with Mohammad Jamal Amr, Jordan, while Ali Badran, Jordan, won an award in the field of science, and Amman Municipality won the Arab City award.
Meanwhile, Al-Bakri stated to KUNA that winning the award is a crowning moment to his 20 years of work in Kuwait in the field of children literature, adding that he has found an appreciation by the Kingdom to his various print issues, in which he wrote nearly 500 children stories, 10 novels, and numerous researches in the children field.
The ceremony was attended by Senate President and Chairman of the Award's Board of Trustees Adulraouf Tawabdeh, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh, and Mayor of Amman Akil Beltaji.
