The 2nd Annual Kuwait Social Media Summit, kicked off here on Wednesday, is a high-level event which brings together social media experts across the government, semi-government and the business sectors over two days to discuss high tech issues related to social media. In its second year, the summit will present advanced discussions on how social media has evolved and provide interesting regional and international case studies. Moreover, the summit will address how day-to-day communication challenges are overcome by setting up a social media strategy that effectively engages today's citizens or consumers. The two-day event features a variety of lectures and workshops by renowned international and regional experts. Targeting government officials, business owners and marketers among other professionals, the summit covers a variety of topics related to social networking. Topics include social media bullying, social media crisis management, and establishing effective social media campaigns. The summit is organized in cooperation with the Central Agency for Information Technology under the patronage of Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. It attracts over 200 private and public sector communication professionals from Kuwait and the GCC region.
