A Kuwaiti media delegation on Wednesday will head to Iranian city of Mashhad on a four-day visit aimed at boosting relations among media people at the level of institutions of media and NGOs.
Adnan Al-Rashed, the delegation coordinator, told KUNA on Tuesday that the visit comes in the context of popular diplomacy, adding the trip has a special importance after His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah paid a historic visit to Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the trip, he added, the delegation will meet a number of Iranian officials, NGO prominent figures and media people. "The delegation will also visit religious, tourist and economic sites in Iran." Meanwhile, Mohammad Al-Sanousi, the former minister of information and a member of the delegation, said that the visit aims at boosting friendly relations as well as political ties between the two countries and to exchange views on issues of mutual interests.
For her part, Kawthar Al-Jawaan, a lawyer and chief of the Kuwaiti Women's Development Institute, said the visit would strengthen ties between NGOs in the two countries.
She expressed her happiness for participating in that trip, saying it includes meetings with senior officials of Mashhad city to stress historic role between all segments of the two societies.
