The Office of the National Assembly Speaker on Sunday quashed as "twisted" a report by the daily Arabic Al-Watan on a dialogue between the Chief Parliamentarian and Riyadh Al-Adsani in the diwaniya (a reception hall) of a gracious family.
"The alleged dialogue in today's Al-Watan, Sunday 23 November 2014, is baseless, and runs contrary to the simplest rules of journalistic honesty and reporting accuracy," the Speaker's office said in a statement.
It called the paper to stick to "rules of journalistic professionalism and ethics, following the model of other well-established Kuwaiti newspapers that enjoy high journalistic reputation on the Gulf and the Arab scenes."
