A media training course for young people is expected to be jointly launched by major media organizations, mainly Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), here on March 22, the organizing committee said.
KUNA's participation in the course is only part of its due role in boosting the skills of young people in the field of journalism, the agency's Deputy Director-General for Editorial Sector Saad Al-Ali said at a news conference held at KUNA on Tuesday for the purpose.
KUNA attaches much attention to young people and usually holds training courses for students, Al-Ali boasted.
He urged Kuwaiti youth to join training courses that would surely boost their journalistic skills, noting that KUNA's support for this initiative mainly aims to encourage ambitious students.
Commending KUNA as Kuwait's only official press organization which sticks to journalistic objectivity, neutrality and professionalism, the deputy director-general of the agency said the media training course is a jumping-off for spurring youth to join the press domain.
The Kuwait Journalists Association's representative Dheiran Aba Al-Khail said the association throws its weight behind all youth projects and initiatives in the press field.
He said this initiative is part of the association's message to encourage young people to work in journalism and boost their skills.
Young people always need such initiatives and efforts which are useful not only to them but to the entire society as well, Aba Al-Khail pointed out.
