Netflix says its online entertainment-streaming service is now available in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
More than 63 million broadband households in these six European countries can now subscribe to Netflix following the U.S. company's official European rollout this week.
"We've received a very warm welcome throughout Europe," Reed Hastings, Netflix's co-founder and chief executive officer, said in a statement Friday. "Consumers love choice -- in series and films and in when and where they watch. We are delighted people are embracing Netflix in our newest territories and, particularly, the incredible viewer enthusiasm for our original series."
Among Netflix's original series are the critically acclaimed House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
