This Saturday, 4th November, over 100 young applicants will undergo a selection process in the hope to gain membership of the committee of the newly-established Youth Media Council. Twelve applicants will be selected to join the council and they will operate in an advisory capacity to the National Media Council, NMC, on youth media matters.
A panel of judges from the NMC, Sky News Arabia, The National newspaper, and the UAE University will conduct the interviews of applicants at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The Youth Media Council has been established by the NMC as part of efforts to engage youth in the development of the country's media sector while benefiting from their perspectives and recommendations. The council will be chaired by Mansour Al Mansoori, NMC Director-General.
Nominations opened early in October for 18-30 year olds involved in the media field throughout the country.
