Criticizing the double standards of West over Hong Kong's ongoing protests, Pakistan's leading newspaper on Thursday said the Western propaganda is nothing but crocodile's tears.
The daily "Pakistan Observer" published an article on its editorial page in title "Democracy in Hong Kong, double standards of West".
The newspaper wrote the editorial about the Western response to the ongoing protests in Hong Kong by university students that launched the "Occupy Central" movement in September this year.
The newspaper said the protests are spearheaded by some foreign funded elements.
Slating the Western media and governments for exaggerating the demonstrations to pressurize Beijing, the editorial said China agreed to govern Hong Kong under the principle of "one country, two systems" but the western media is highlighting the issue unreasonably to advance their sinister designs against China.
"West also engineered troubles in several Arab and African states after popular elections that voted to power anti-West governments and we believe that protests in Hong Kong are being used as whip by the West to lash China unjustifiably," the daily said.
