Al Ahram Board Chairman and Head of the Syndicate of Journalists Abdel Mohsen Salama said Islam is an easy and tolerant religion away from any extremism.

During a meeting with participants at the Islamic intellect forum, organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Salama called on the media to highlight the tolerant face of Islam and its sublime intellect.

He praised the role played by clerics and religious institutions in facing terrorist ideas and developing the religious discourse using advanced and contemporary tools.

Head of the religious sector at the Ministry of Awqaf Sheikh Gaber Tayei addressed the forum, asserting the role played by media in facing extremism which is considered a milestone in directing the public opinion to turn against terror.
