Saudi newspapers out on Sunday highlighted the visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Riyadh and his summit talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Azizi Al Saudi on a set of regional and international issues of concern to both countries.
The Saudi papers also underlined Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's remarks, on the fringe of his current visit to China, on the importance of Sisi's visit to Arabia after King Salman assumed office.
Under the title of 'Egyptian President's visit to the king..enhancing relations and confronting challenges', "Al Youm" newspaper said Sisi's visit comes at a critical time for the Arab and Islamic nation. Both countries have a political and economic weight that should be capitalized in settling a set of important files.
Meanwhile, "Al Iqtisadiya" newspaper quoted Egypt's former industry minister Mostafa El Refai as saying that the economic file will figure high in the agenda of Sisi-Salman talks.
The paper said the Egyptian economy needs more investments in view of the current mega projects which are currently being implemented.
Saudi Arabia's contribution to the projects under-construction in Egypt hits dlrs 5.7 billion, representing 27 percent of the total Arab investments in Egypt.
The UAE ranks second in the volume of investments set up in Egypt which reached dlrs 4.5 billions, while Kuwait ranked third.
