A senior Swiss parliamentarian underlined that realities of Iran's society are completely different from the western media propaganda which is trying to show an unreal and offensive picture of the country. "During our stay in Tehran, we got to know that anti-Iran propaganda are biased and do not match the realities in the Iranian society," Member of Swiss Federal Assembly Luzi Stamm said in a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Sunday. Expressing pleasure with his Tehran visit, Stamm noted that despite the propaganda of the western media against Iran, it is a calm and civilized country with cultured, kind and industrious people. On Wednesday, Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani deplored the western countries for raising baseless allegations against the human rights situation in Iran, specially women's rights. Amoli Larijani made the remarks, addressing a group of judicial officials in Tehran. These days, Islam and the Islamic Republic in particular are targeted by the so-called advocates of human rights for alleged violation of human rights particularly the women's rights, he said. In relevant remarks in May, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed that Islam as the last and final divine religion sees no difference in the rights and values of men and women. "In Islamic view, men and women have specific features and characteristics in their creation, but they have no difference in their human and social rights, spiritual values and the path to reach spiritual maturity," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with a large number of female scholars and graduates in Tehran. "The correct look at women is a look which identifies them within the framework of their gender and her transcending values," he added. Ayatollah Khamenei also lashed out at the West for its materialistic view of women, and stressed that this wrong approach, which has inflicted irreparable damage on family values, is even felt by certain western scholars now.
