A UK-based international publisher Taylor & Francis Group, banned the publication of scientific articles by Iranian authors. The company, which publishes books and academic journals, has called on its editorial network not to publish articles by Iranian authors who are financially supported by the Islamic Republic’s administration, Press TV reported. In April, the publishing giant, Elsevier of the Netherlands, also demanded that its journals reject articles by Iranian authors working in administrative capacities. The US, Israel and some of their allies claimed that Iran might be pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program, with Washington and the European Union using the unfounded claim as a pretext to impose several rounds of illegal sanctions on Iran. Iran rejects the nuclear allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Tehran maintains that the aim of illegal sanctions is to prevent the Islamic Republic from achieving scientific progress
