Murat Uslu and Zafer Karakas, Turkish correspondents working in Egypt, were detained by Egyptian security forces. Turkish Star TV's Egypt correspondent Murat Uslu and cameraman Zafer Karakas were taken into custody by the security officials while shooting in the Egyptian capital Cairo. Upon detention, Turkish correspondents were reported to have called their colleagues and the corporation they work for. Turkish Embassy in Cairo stated that investigation had been launched regarding the said incident and they were trying to determine where the two correspondents were. The Embassy also informed that they contacted the Egyptian officials for the release of the Turkish correspondents.
