The General Secretariat of the United Arab Media Council (UAMC) has honoured H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, with the Gold Pendant of the First Order in recognition of his support for the UAE's security media in line with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In a statement, the council said the accolade coincides with designating Sharjah Capital of Arab Press for 2016.
The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior was also honoured with the Al Haitham Arab Media Award, recognising it as the best Arab security media department in 2016.
The UAMC was established in Bahrain in 2012 and has three main offices in Manama, UAE and Jordan.
