A 22-year-old United States student, who allegedly used Facebook to lure a Fijian girl into sending explicit photos to intimidate her, has appeared in court in Fiji, the government-owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) reported Thursday.
Shivneel Singh, who allegedly developed an online relationship with a 20-year-old Fijian girl and then asked her to take her own nude photos and send them to him through Facebook, has been charged with one count of criminal intimidation.
The victim sent the photos claiming she felt pressured to do so.
"Singh allegedly threatened the student into having sex with him saying he would post her photos online if she refused...He allegedly met the victim and threatened her again when he arrived in the country last Friday," said the FBC.
The U.S. student, arrested at a motel where he met the Fijian girl, has been released on bail and a stop departure order has been placed on him.
