Lobna Ahmed says her massively popular radio show, "Haneicha Ahla" (Live Better), led her to delving more into the obscure field of energy therapy. The star presenter's programme, which is broadcast on Egyptian radio station "Aghani FM", has been lauded for providing information that help people improve their mental and physical states. In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, Lobna speaks about her career and her passion for energy therapy that pushed her to learn more until she became an energy therapist herself. Arabstoday: How did you join the Egyptian Official Broadcast? Lobna Ahmed: I'm a graduate of the Faculty of Arts in Hebrew, so I joined as a Hebrew translator and editor. I then moved to work as an editor and director at the Nile Channel Network, specifically at the Nile Culture and Nile News channels. After a long spell there, I decided to work as an Arabic presenter, and I was accepted at Official Egyptian Radio's "Aghani FM" station, where I'm the host of the programme "Haneicha Ahla". AT: What idea is your programme based on? LA: The show basically aims at helping people find happiness, through hosting specialists who can give the audience helpful advice on how to rid themselves of negative feelings and attitudes, like dishonesty, hypocrisy, jealousy etc. Of course as a musical broadcast we play songs that match the topic of each episode. AT: What links the programme to energy therapy? LA: Energy therapy is a science dedicated to helping people remove negative vibes and gain more positive ones, and that is exactly what we try to help our audience in doing. AT: So how did you turn out to be an energy therapist yourself? LA: I was very passionate about energy therapy, even its branches like colour therapy and gem therapy. My programme helped me gain a lot of knowledge about these fields. However, the main person who influenced me was energy therapist Dr Reem Farouk, who acknowledged my interest and directed me to an energy therapy course organised in Egypt by leading academics...I finished attending all its levels. AT: Is gem therapy only for mental health? LA: Not at all, because it could be actually used as an alternative to laser rays in treating physical illness. We can also use crystals and gems in surgeries, cancer and liver cirrhosis surgeries in particular. In some cases we can avoid surgery and heal many serious diseases by charging gems with positive charges and putting it on the diseased organ while reading certain religious passages and Qu'ran verses. AT: Is energy therapy as costly as laser therapy? LA: It could be considered relatively costly, but it costs much less than laser therapy, plus it has no side effects. AT: Did being an energy therapist help you on your show? LA: Of course, now I can give valuable information to the audience myself, information that they would find useful and directly apply to their lives. For example it will be very useful for anybody to know that lying would shorten his lifespan. We have to believe that humans God's favourite creation, and they have the greatest potential as well. If everybody can remember this, people will be able to overcome all their difficulties.
