Thirty journalists representing Arab and international media, hosted by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), toured Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, one of the stadiums to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The journalists listened to explanations provided by stadium officials who confirmed that the project would be completed by August 31 next year, where the stadium will be fully ready to host the matches as well as the completion of facilities adjacent to the stadium.
The media delegation also inspected the workers ‘housing complex and the journalists expressed their astonishment at the conditions of the workers’ housing and residence, where they witnessed the quality of life of the 5,000 workers.
After the end of the stadium tour, the journalists went to the rail station and also heard to a detailed explanation of the work process by the supervisors.
The tour will continue on Monday morning, where they will visit the SC headquarters at Al Badaa Tower and meet with the Secretary-General of SC Hassan Al Thawadi.
The tour will be completed on Tuesday, where the media delegation will visit the site of the Lusail Stadium, in addition to other events, including a meeting with Al Sadd star Xavi Hernandez and visiting Aspire Academy. The delegation will then visit the Museum of Islamic Art at the end of the tour
