president Abdel Fattah El Sisi
Moscow - MENA

The Egyptian people would not protest against the austerity measures taken by the president Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Russian Izvestia daily newspaper reported.
Izvestia highlighted Sisi's argument that such measures had to be taken before, asserting the importance of considering the matter in a positive way.
The increase in fuel prices would mainly lead to increase of prices in general, but people would not protest against Sisi's measures as they consider that he just assumed the power and tries to rectify the deteriorating economic situation, the paper added.
