Time Magazine published in its issue dated (March 5, 1945) an extensive report about the meeting between late King Abdulaziz Al Saud and then President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the United States of America at the time, on board the American destroyer in Suez Canal.
The magazine said that King Abdulaziz ascended a warship stationed at Jeddah port to take him to the Suez Canal, accompanied by 48 people, including his brother, Prince Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, and two of his sons were: Prince Mansour, and Prince Mohammed, and the trip took two days during which the ship sailed a distance of 800 miles from Jeddah to Suez Canal, where the US President awaits.
